July 2017 – The clubs last Under 3 trip was a mystical experience with the Bridgewater Jerry in full swing. Iced ropes holding the kayaks on the roof, kayakers disappearing into the mist, numb hands and what seemed to be 1,500 ducks. Or was 500 ducks at a sighting and they kept hopping down the river in fronts of us? Definitely a mystery. Venue was the Derwent from the Tyenna to Gretna – a rarely done section but most enjoyable with wonderful rock formations. A full flow out of Meadow Bank dam meant we only paddled to keep warm. Pogies rule!
