Andrea’s award was the culmination of years of coaching wildwater paddlers including Australia’s multi-medal winning Dan Hall. At the Hydro Tasmania Wildwater World Cup, held in Tasmania in 2009, the Australian Team were the most successful ever, with a Silver and a Bronze to Dan Hall, and all up, ten  top-10 finishes for Australian paddlers in the six race series. This included personal best course times, and personal best World Cup results for paddlers wuch as Ben Maynard, who finished with a 5th and two 6th placings, and Andrea herself, who finished with a 6th place.

One of the few female Wildwater coaches in the world, Andrea’s award recognises her development of a unique program that is world’s best practice in developing world class athletes and which has lifted Australia’s wildwater performance to a level where we can rightly claim to be one of the top Wildwater teams in the world.

Congratulations Andrea.
