<H3>Huon Race Results</H3> <P>Each year the Derwent Canoe Club runs a series of races on the picturesque Huon River near Franklin and Huonville. In 2009 Total Eyecare Optometrists were the major race sponsors</P> <P>The series is predominantly sheltered flat water making it suited to almost all paddlers in a wide range of craft.</P> <P>Races start and finish either at Franklin or at Huonville, with loop circuits used so paddlers finish where they start. These races are ideal preparation for anyone competing in the Winter/Huon Challenge which in 2009 used one Huon Race course for the paddle leg.</P> <P>Races vary in length between 5 and 11 Kms and Sea Kayaks, Multi-sport Kayaks , Downriver Racers, Sit-on-Tops and Surf Skis are welcome.</P> <P> </P>
