LOSS OF WHITE WATER RIVERS STORY IN THE SUNDAY TIMES
Ê
The Sunday Times ran a story on the loss of rivers for white water sport and recreation in their September 11 edition on page 29. The rivers have been lost as a result of dam building by Water Corporation. You can read the article at

Canoeing WA has been expressing the community’s concern over the loss of white water rivers for rafting and canoeing. 7 of the 10 significant white water rivers between Perth and Bunbury have been lost!! Of particular concern is the Harvey River where the Harvey International Slalom Course has gone. This was recognised as one of the best natural slalom courses in the world. Its closure has forced our top slalom athletes to move to the eastern states to remain competitive. Information about the loss of the white water rivers, and the Harvey International Slalom Course can be found at www.whitewaterperth.org.au/lostrivers
