Brown’s Rivulet Race Series 2004/2005
Race 4 Results are out now!!
Race #4 was held on Tuesday 21st December 2004 and was a great success with 21 a paddlers competing, despite the start of Christmas holidays for some.
The conditions were not ideal for the start with quite a headwind on the river! The Time Trial event was taken out by Dan Hall in 7:03 (in a DRR boat!) from the sprint kayaks of Chris Blackaby in 7:49 and Stuart McFadzen in 8:00.
The Open Womens was won again by Carol Hurst in 9:03 in her DRR boat from the multi-sport boats of Jen Brown in 9:41 and Christina 15:24 (in an RPM!).
The hottly contested Junior DRR event was taken out by Alistair Stanny (TIS Talent Search Squad) in 10:58 from Alexander Lewis in 11:03 and Doug Hagger (TIS Talent Search Squad) in 11:33.
Open Mens DRR was taken out by Current Australian Champion Dan Hall, in 7:03 from Swarz in 8:16 and Tim Watson in 9:04. Chris Blackaby took out the Open Mens Multi-sport category in 7:49, in a sprint kayak, from the sprint kayak of Stuart McFadzen in 8:00 and the Time Machine of Bernard Walker in 8:50.
The handicap race was taken out in fine style by John Dalco, producing a personal best time of 9:20….. see Race 4 Results from Sean Mennitz (by 49 secs)and Doug Hagger (by 1:37)!
The Junior Development squad again progressed well, breaking the 11min barrier, paddling Wavehoppers and using winged paddles. Paddlers are now looking toward the National Championships 17th and 18th of January on the Forth River.
1.4 km flatwater races. First race being an up-river time trial from the walkbridge near the beach, to the walkbridge at the golf course, followed by a handicap race back down river. All craft welcome. Entries taken from 6:00pm, racing starts 6:30pm.
